Getting around Cuba
Practise 12 transport words and useful phrases for getting around Cuba.
Cuban transport vocabulary for real questions
Knowing the name of a vehicle is only the beginning of a journey. Useful conversation also covers where you are going, where to wait, whether a route passes a particular place and when you need to get off.
Build your listening around a clear purpose. In a question about directions, listen for the destination and the next step. In a conversation about a journey, notice time expressions and whether the speaker is describing something that happened or planning what comes next.
¿Dónde me bajo? means Where do I get off? It is a short, ordinary Spanish question that becomes meaningful when a destination is already understood. If you do not catch the reply, asking someone to repeat the place name is often more useful than pretending you followed everything.
The academy activity offers focused vocabulary practice through your own learner profile. Our public Cuban phrase and culture guides help you place those words in wider conversation, while keeping language learning separate from up-to-date information about particular routes, services or fares.
