I have taught Cuban Spanish online to hundreds of students in private lessons. After earning Super Tutor status and receiving requests by email and social media, I created a community where people could learn our dialect and get to know Cuba. The result is Cuban Spanish Academy.
My name is Jean Pablo Sciacca. I come from Camagüey, in central Cuba. Camagüeyanos like to brag that our Spanish is the best on the island—and I have to agree! My accent is clear and natural, and it helps me teach Cuban Spanish in an approachable way.
I care deeply about Cuban freedom and our culture: its history, music, literature and contributions to the arts. The institutionalization of communism after the 1959 revolution shaped Cuban lives and curtailed prosperity and freedom.
Like many of my generation, I had to live in exile. Abroad, I became interested in other cultures, read their literature and learned their languages. That experience inspired me to do the same for my own people.
Cuba and its language deserve to be known, loved and respected. I value creativity, humanism and languages. My mission is to share my country and its Spanish with people who want to understand them. I have put my heart into this academy.
