Talking about home and family in Cuban Spanish
A conversation about family quickly becomes a conversation about everyday life: who lives nearby, who is visiting, whose turn it is to cook and how everyone is doing. Learning the family label alone does not tell you how to take part in those exchanges.
Pay attention to possession and relationships. My sister, your cousin and our house connect a person or a place to the speaker. Then notice how a name, a family word or a familiar form of address makes clear who someone is talking about.
An ordinary question such as ¿Con quién vives? asks Who do you live with? It opens space for a real answer rather than a list of relatives. You can describe your own household without assuming every Cuban family lives in the same way.
The member activity lets you practise vocabulary in a separate learner profile. Alongside it, our public culture and phrase pages offer more context for conversations about people, belonging and the small details that make a home feel familiar.
